Usher's New Album
May 22, 2009
Usher’s new album is called Monster. His publicist issued a one fragmented-sentence press release Thursday: “Usher has just announced ‘Monster’ [gic] as the title for upcoming new album to be released fall 2009.”
His publicist needs to take a writing class seeing that she/he couldn’t even write a complete sentence in this one fragment press release and mispunctuated the album title.
We should probably expect to hear a semi-scary themed song from Usher in time for Halloween in order to copy the success of how the music companies marketed Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” and Rihanna’s “Disturbia.” Ushers latest album has not been selling as well as his Confessions album, and he’s probably looking to have more commercial success (for his ego and to pay for his wife’s botched plastic surgery).
Expect to hear at least one commercial single that is an up-tempo hip hop song, and at least one banal ballad with sparse instrumental backing, such as “Confessions” and “U Got It Bad.”
