Former Vice President Dick Cheney continues to boast of the national-security accomplishments of the Bush administration even though the past administration has been under investigation for the use of torture on detainees from the war on terror.
In his speech Thursday in D.C., he mentioned 9/11 25 times, but did not mention Osama bin Laden even once.
It is believed Cheney's influence caused the Democratic-controlled Senate vote to deny Obama $80 million to close the Guantanamo prison in eight months, as the president promised.
