Naked Rihanna Pictures Leaked

May 9, 2009

This week pictures of Rihanna naked leaked to the internet. They were supposedly taken at the London Hotel in West Hollywood, CA.

They were allegedly leaked by Chris Brown or someone dealing with his legal investigation.

One of the tamer pictures that can be shown here is seen to the right. It is Rihanna taking a picture of herself in a bathroom partly clothed with "I Love You Robyn, I Miss You" written on the mirror. Robyn is Rihanna's legal first name. Another photos is Chris Brown wearing women's pink underwear on his head. One is of her completely naked.

We may all be young at some point, but we're not all this stupid. These pictures were taken most likely before her 21st birthday, February 20.

It seems as if what she wrote on the mirror was referring to her longing for, at least partly, her life before she became Rihannna.

Craig Ferguson Battles Camera and Wins

May 9, 2009

On tonight's episode of "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" Craig slapped a camera during the intro, as he does every night, but tonight he broke it.

After the glass lens shattered on the floor, Ferguson shouted, "That was awesome!"

He followed by sweeping up the glass while performing the monologue.

Ferguson later said, "These cameras are old. I slap that camera every night like it’s a naughty little donkey. I can’t seriously plow through this crap now. This week was great - I broke a camera; Michelle Obama was on 'Sesame Street.' That camera had it coming. You know why? That's what you get if you add ten pounds to me!"

Afterwards he mentioned the new "Star Trek" movie and joked, "These days [William] Shatner could play a small planet."

Paula Abdul Said She Went to Rehab...Now Says No, No, No

May 8, 2009

Practically everyone has seen Paula Abdul act weird, slurring her speech and dozing in-and-out while speaking at various interviews and at "American Idol." Many people even refer to her as “crazy Paula,” and have suspected her strange behavior is due to prescription drugs.

It seems the speculation was right. This week Ladies’ Home Journal printed an interview they did with Paula Abdul that said she checked into rehab at the La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, CA this Thanksgiving to detox from her painkiller medication addiction. However, Abdul said yesterday that she did not say she went to rehab.

Ladies’ Home Journal stands by its story, which most likely means their story is true and most likely have recorded proof of what Abdul said.

The magazine claims Abdul said, “I could have killed myself…Withdrawal – it’s the worst thing. …I was freezing cold, then sweating hot, then chattering and in so much pain, it was excruciating. But at my very core, I did not like existing the way I had been.”

Abdul said on a Detroit radio show Thursday, “Mojo in the Morning,” that she only checked into the resort for a spa vacation.

She said, “It’s a spa. I was there for almost three days having fun doing spa stuff.”

The venue she chose to dispute the article seems a bit weird, since it's not a major news outlet.

According to the article, Abdul has been struggling with addiction to the opioid painkillers for twelve years.

Ladies’ Home Journal refuses to retract its article, and their spokeswoman told TVGuide.com, “We stand by our reporting and are happy Paula decided to share her story with us.”

Before Allison Iraheta's elimination on Wednesday’s American Idol, Paula sang, or rather lip-synced, her new robotic-sounding song, “I’m Just Here for the Music.” Her performance included fireworks and fog, and she was dancing the whole time with six other dancers.

On her Twitter page today, she said, “Thanks for all the support! As for [an] album, I am hoping sometimes [sic] this summer :) Stay tuned…”

"Stay tuned"...Do we really want to?

Doctor Dolly Parton

May 8, 2009

This morning, Dolly Parton received an h
onorary PhD of Humane and Musical Letters form the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.

Dolly joked, “When people say s
omething about ‘Double-D,’ they will be thinking of something entirely different.”

The 1,069 graduates at the College of Arts and Sciences’ commencement ceremony gave Parton a standing ovation.

Her degree is one of only two honorary degrees ever awarded by the University of Tennessee. It is to celebrate her music and advocacy for education.

Dolly's newest album Backwoods Barbie is really great. She independently finances and markets it through her music label, Dolly Records. All of the songs have interesting lyrics and melodies.

Editor's song pick: "Shinola"

Sarah Palin's Deflating

May 9, 2009

Finally, Sarah Palin is not so popular anymore. It took awhile for this Dumbass Club member.

A Hays Research poll found this week that her positive approval in Alaska has plummeted from 86% positive a year ago to 54% now.

She’s not even the most liked Republican leader in AK. Lisa Murkowski, their senior Senator, has an approval rating over 76%.

400 individuals from voting AK households were contacted and completed by phone for the survey.

Condie Rice's Touring, Teaching and Getting Pissed Off

May 6, 2009

Condoleezza Rice, former U.S. Secretary of State, is touring around the United States in a speaking engagement blitz.

She visited The "Tonight Show with Jay Leno" on March 23. In April she was paid to speak at the NFL’s annual owners meeting, and recently she has been booked at various events and graduation ceremonies.

Her representation, The Washington Speakers Bureau disclosed Rice demands $150,000 per speech, which is the same amount as George Bush. The Washington Speakers Bureau represents her, former president Bush, Laura Bush and other political figures.

On May 3, she visited and spoke at the Jewish Primary Day School of the Nation’s Capital, “Memorial Lecture” series in D.C. [How there is a memorial lecture series for an elementary school is beyond my comprehension]. During the day she spoke with elementary student, and was questioned about various topics including torture. Later that night she performed for the Sixth and I Historic Synagogue, according to the May 4 article by Alec MacGillis of the Washington Post.

Keeping with the school theme, on May 4 she conducted a school-wide assembly at Bodine magnet school that is co-sponsored by the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia, PA. That night she spoke again at a dinner for the 60th anniversary of this chapter, which is thought to be apart of the secret society, Council on Foreign Relations.

In addition to speaking engagements, she is currently the Thomas and Barbara Stephenson Senior Fellow on Public Policy at the Hoover Institution and returned in March as a professor of political science at Stanford.

Just last Monday April 27, Rice was at a dinner reception in a Stanford University dorm, and she was questioned by students, including Jeremy Cohn. Some of the debate was videotaped and uploaded to YouTube by Reyna Garcia.

In response to Cohn’s questions, Rice said, “Abu Grave was wrong, but in terms of the enhanced interrogation and so forth: anything that was legal, and was going to make this country safer, the president wanted to do. Nothing that was illegal –nothing that was illegal, and nothing that was going to make the country less safe.”

Cohn said, “500,000 died in World War II, and yet we did not torture the prisoners of war.”

While shaking her right index finger back and forth at Cohn, Rice said, “And we didn’t torture anyone here either.”

Cohn said, “We tortured them in Guantanamo Bay.”

Raising her voice, Rice said, “No, no dear you’re wrong, you’re wrong…Do your homework first.”

Rice was heated, so she allowed another student to question her.

Sammy Abusrur said, “So I read in a recent report - recently read - that said you in a memo - you’re the one who authorized torture…I’m sorry - waterboarding. Is waterboarding torture?”

Rice replied, “The president instructed us that nothing we would do would be outside of our obligations, legal obligations, under the Convention Against Torture. So that’s - and by the way, I didn’t authorize anything. I conveyed the authorization of the administration to the agency that they had policy authorization subject to the Justice Department’s clearance. That’s what I did.”

Abusrur re-asked if waterboarding was torture in her opinion, and she said, “I just said the United States was told - we were told nothing that violates our obligations under the convention against torture. And so, by definition if it was authorized by the president, it did not violate our obligations under the Convention Against Torture” (Garcia, “Condoleezza Rice meets with some students,” YouTube-link).

Her statements have been compared to the infamous one made by President Nixon during his interview with David Frost, “When the president does it; that means it is not illegal.”

In summary, Condie would be a really mean professor.

Edwards Facing Federal Investigation

May 4, 2009

First entertainment journalists exposed his extramarital affair, the child born allegedly from the affair, then he dropped out of the presidential race, and now John Edwards is acknowledging that he is under federal investigation.

The former North Carolina Senator and two-time Democratic presidential candidate is facing a federal investigation for misappropriation of campaign funds. His political action committee paid over $100,000 for video production to the company of the woman with whom he had an affair, Rielle Hunter.

On Sunday, Edwards explained in a public statement that he is cooperating with the investigation. He said, "I am confident that no funds from my campaign were used improperly. However, I know that it is the role of the government to ensure that this is true."

Edwards also headed fundraising for two non-profit organizations and a poverty center at his alma mater, which are under investigation as well.

His political action committee paid Hunter's company in 2006 for several months for internet videos documenting his actions leading up to his 2008 presidential run and paid her firm $14,086.50 on April 1, 2007 for a "furniture purchase."

When the 2007 payment was made by Edwards's political action committee, they claimed to only have $7,932.95 according to their filings with the Federal Election Commission.

From April 1 to June 30, 2007, there were five contributions made to the political action committee with one of them being for the "furniture purchase" from Edwards's presidential campaign. The other four contributions were conveniently made on the last day of the reporting period, June 30.

Fred Baron, an attorney and Edwards's national finance chairman, stated in 2008 that he was making payments to Hunter to live in California, but that Hunter was not working for the campaign at the time and no campaign funds were used. Edwards claims he did not know about the payments.
